US Vetoes UN Inquiry into Gaza Massacre

May 2018 Gaza Massacre

Vulnerable Children Perish in Gaza
Children are often vulnerable to environmental antagonists. In this case the gasses launched by Israeli soldiers permeated the Gaza environment and triggered the death of infant Layla. The grief of this family over the loss of their baby has been felt around the world since May 14.
Meanwhile dozens more patients with leg wounds from Israeli live fire will not survive. We have examined many cases and the condition of 10% to 20% of the thousands of patients under care is critical. Sadly it must be warned that there will be more civilian deaths yet. This is clearly an unprovoked  massacre.

The United States government has already used its veto and blocked a UNSC request for an investigation into the May 2018 Gaza Massacre as we predicted. The RINJ Foundation Women are seeking a UN General Assembly inquiry. The conduct of Israel and the United States in  this massacre is scurrilous.

Netanyahu and Trump are together accountable for thousands of Palestinian civilian casualties. White House allegations against Hamas are mute. At demonstrations, extremists are always misbehaving. Hamas is not doing the killing of Palestinians.
Israelis are injuring or killing ordinary Palestinian civilians on the Gaza Strip. We see it eyes-on and we see others’ video. We see it in the hospitals and on the ground. There have been tens of thousands of demonstrators who when given time to understand their cause and concern should have been anticipated.

Israel’s handling of the Palestinian/Israeli crisis and the occupation of Palestinian lands has failed and rolled into a spectacle of religion-driven hatred where showers of tear gas rockets and live ammunition smash into ordinary civilians. Israel is very sick.

A United Nations led investigation is a must.

Because a permanent member of the UN Security Council is alleged to be at least a party to the crimes being committed in Gaza,  The RINJ Foundation Women are pressing for a UN General Assembly investigation and resolution on Israel’s conduct. Israeli Soldiers are shooting civilians in their legs. But they have killed many with live ammunition against unarmed civilians. Hospitals are swamped with over 3,000 patients.

Israel and the United States are complicit in crimes against humanity; murder; race crimes; and numerous violations of United Nations Resolutions. What else is new.

The USA’s de facto declaration of implementing a one-state solution for Israel and the occupied territories of Palestine are in flagrant violation of relevant Security Council resolutions, including resolutions 476 (1980) and 478 (1980) and most recently resolution 2334 (2016), as well as a number of General Assembly resolutions, including resolution 181 (II) and most recently resolution A/72/15.

A United Nations led investigations is a must.

The 15 May words of UK’s Theresa May are instructive:

“The loss of life we have seen is tragic and extremely concerning,” she said. “Such violence is destructive to peace efforts and we call on all sides to show restraint.

“There is an urgent need to establish the facts of what happened yesterday through an independent and transparent investigation, including why such a volume of live fire was used and what role Hamas played in events.

“Palestinians have the right to protest, but these protests must be peaceful. We are concerned that extremist elements are seeking to hijack legitimate protests to further their own objectives.

“While we do not question the right of Israel to defend its borders, the use of live fire and the resulting loss of life is deeply troubling. We urge Israel to show restraint.

“It is in everyone’s interests for peace and stability to prevail in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.”

The Canadian Government Issued The Following Statement

“Canada is very deeply saddened and deplores the violence that has occurred in the Gaza Strip. It is appalling and inexcusable that civilians, members of the media, first responders, and children have been among the victims.”

It is heartbreaking that Israel has betrayed its supporters in this way.
